THE BIGGEST SCAM IN SOCIAL NETWORKS HISTORY? "KONY 2012" So the "kony 2012" video uploaded by invisiblechildreninc has amounted over 50 million views in just 3 days, which means that a LOT of people have seen it thanks to the use of social networks to share and talk about the video.
After watching the video, I did nothing, because I knew I had to see what this was all about, whereas others will just jump in feet first, without any research or idea of what they're being asked to do.
After some reading into the charity [non-profit organisation], I started finding things out, negative things about the program, and I found out today, after watching an interview they did with the "invisible" Joseph Kony, and I was like, so it is true, they really are BENDING the TRUTH, blowing things out of proportions, that is MY opinion, and I am allowed to EXPRESS my criticism and OPINION, so if you do not agree with me that though they did a great job in informing us about this terrible being, they had an ulterior motive, and that was to get more donations, which was and will be used inappropriately.
Anyway, check out the links, below, EDUCATE YOURSELF, don't just follow what I or anyone says. . .
http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=12429 MISSION - The story of Invisible Children (IC) began in 2003, when three young filmmakers traveled to East Africa and filmed a documentary, Invisible Children: The Rough Cut, about the ongoing civil war and child soldier phenomenon in northern Uganda. Upon showing this documentary in the United States, the story of the child soldiers sparked a youth-oriented grassroots movement driven by the desire to transform apathy into activism. This movement led to the establishment of Invisible Children, Inc. as a registered 501(c)3 in 2005. IC's programs include educational and microeconomic initiatives in Central Africa benefitting over 11,000 people as well as biannual tours, awareness events, and fundraising campaigns stateside. Recently, IC has expanded its operations to Central Africa to address the plight of the most recent victims of the LRA's reign of terror who live in some of the most remote regions of the world.
