Two days before Christmas 2010, an American male typing from an undisclosed location logged onto his new website to pen his very first post.
In barely 200 words, the blogger quotes “Frank, an American soldier in Afghanistan” in a blandish diatribe ripe with a disregard for grade-school grammar. The first and only paragraph concludes with a ten-word thesis statement that not only sums up Frank’s thoughts, but the message of the blog as a whole:
The American women today only care about their next orgasm.
Since late last year, the Boycott American Women blog has hosted over 120 entries and has received thousands of hits from all across the world. Each post, typically one a day, serves to support the webmaster’s mission statement that American men need to be aware that their domestic counterparts should be done away with.
“American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible and highly unchaste,” reads a side-panel frame that provides what little information for the blog that is offered. “The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least,” it continues.
“This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.”
Most of the posts published to Boycott American Women, hosted on Blogspot.com, quote angry American males that usually only give their name and location. “Tom in Washington” writes in December that American women need to get used to living alone “or else become a lesbian.” A week later, “Gary in Kentucky” warns women that “American men no longer find you desirable.”
In some instances, the webmaster posts essays attributed to no one, brimming with sexist accusations and angst-riddled verbal rapes. “American feminist women caused the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan” is the name of one entry in particular, while another calls out American women for chewing too much bubble gum (which he alleges causes temporary retardation stemming from the inclusion of the chemical aspartame). Another lists the “Three Reasons Why American Women Suck,” which includes obesity, “credit card blowout greed” and, of course, “feminist anger and psychosis.”
“American women are no damn good anymore,” writes the author.
Though the other posts are attributed to people like “Steven in Canada” (in the entry “Canada male thinks American women are whores”) and “Michael from Detroit” (author of the brilliant prose entitled “American women are vicious sociopaths”), there does not appear to be any place on the entire site where Steves and Mikes can actually submit their contributions.
In the info listed for the blog, the webmaster describes himself as an American man that has decided to boycott American women. “In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don't know how to cook or clean, don't want to have children, etc,” he writes.
“Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?” he concludes.
Well, if you ask “Ben in Canada,” the answer is simple: “The one good thing about American Women is that they are such sluts.”
The most recent entry, “An American Woman admits most American women are stupid” comes courtesy of “Denise from California.” In the post, dated August 11, 2011, Denise says she is one of the few beautiful, educated and sophisticated women in America, but typically has to “dumb-down” her conversations when speaking with others of her gender.
“Clueless American women also insist on feminizing their men, and then they're so surprised when their husbands leave,” she writes.
Meanwhile, a quick survey of the female correspondents in RT's Washington DC bureau has revealed that maybe it is the men behind the blog that should be boycotted, and not the women.
"All of these posts are clearly from pathetic men who are bitter that their girlfriends or wives have left them for better men – men who no doubt have better things to do with their time than sit in their mothers' basements writing hateful blog posts," writes one femaleRT staffer, age 25.
"It might be slightly easier to take this blog seriously if the grammar wasn't so atrocious and the testimonials so idiotic," writes one 24-year-old RT employee. She goes on to call into question the writing skills of one alleged author:
"'The average American female…indulges in fornication with multiply [sic] sexually partners before reaching her mid-20s.' As one of the 'few' smart American women with good manners, it's hard to take the poorly thought-out ranting of a man most likely writing this screed from his mother's basement with more than a grain of salt."
Responding to the author, "Donald," she adds that "feminism is the radical idea that women are people too. Welcome to the twenty-first century; from the looks of it, you'll likely be spending it alone."
